This elegant piece displays the variable glass thickness commonly found in a wine bottle. All wine bottles have an area approximately one third of the way up from the base which appears as a ripple when the bottle is held up to light. This ripple is caused by the change in the thickness of the glass which we take advantage of to create the resulting sensual curves of this unique piece.
The base of venezia is made from a recycled burgundy style bottle which has been cut horizontally before being cut vertically in three different equilateral planes. The upper half, which is bonded to the base piece, is made from the top portion of a Bordeaux style bottle. It has a clear glass tealight candle holder nestled within and bonded to it's upper chamber. Designed by, handcrafted, and available exclusively from Last Call Bottleworks. |
